What has happened in Haiti has made us all thankful for our own warm houses and soft beds. It has made the simple commute home a little sweeter, knowing that there is a home waiting for us at the end of the road. The world has responded to the Haiti disaster with open hearts and open wallets, but right now, the immediate need is for shelter, not money.

Novack's is very pleased to announce that we have shelter to offer.

Through the initiative of Jeff Fischer of London and his connections to both the RCMP and the U.N. this campaign has become possible. Novacks is delighted to partner with him in this effort. We have been able to purchase a large quantity of tents below normal wholesale cost. If you have wanted to give to Haiti relief, but have not known how, we would like to offer you the chance to purchase a tent to send to Haiti.

The tents are $79 plus taxes, the same price that we were able to purchase them for. You can call us at the store - (519) 434-2282 - to purchase a tent over the phone, or come into the store to talk to someone in person. The tents will be shipped to Montreal and then flown on a U.N. plane into the Dominican Republic. From there, U.N. transport is waiting to drive the tents into Haiti. While this will be a continual effort, we are hoping for as much support as possible this weekend for a shipment that will be heading out at the beginning of the week.
